Job Description






Position Summary: The Assistant Controller works under the guidance of the Controller, and assists the Controller with directing the organization's financial operations and administration. Assists the Controller in the preparation and review of financial statements, budgets, financial planning, financial systems, and various other financial operating reports. Has the day-to-day responsibility of the Finance Department and performs duties personally or through subordinates.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists the Controller in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements
• Manages operational data and maintains data accuracy and integrity
• Reviews financial data regularly to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
• Evaluates internal controls, implements new controls as needed, and improves existing controls, putting in place new policies and procedures
• Reviews policies and processes, recommends modifications to existing policies and processes, and presents recommendations for new policies and processes.
• In support of the Controller, prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Works with Controller to manage the preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
• Directs month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Reviews journal entries, account analyses, and account reconciliations at month-end for completeness and accuracy
• Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
• Maintains construction in progress detail with supporting documentation and works with management team to submit capital requests
• Acts as liaison for internal and external audits.
• Works with SOX Coordinator and Compliance Manager to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Learns SOX Corporate requirements and maintains records to comply with said requirements
• Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Supports major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies by overseeing general accounting policies, processes and activities.Required Skills:
  • Strong background in product cost Accounting (standard cost system) and experience in plant accounting/finance systems including strong understanding in the use of Excel.
  • GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge.
  • Track record of improving internal controls highly valued.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and understanding of accounting and finance issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and profitability and variance analysis.
  • A proactive, hands-on strategic thinker with solid problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation vs. simple reporting.Experience & Education
    • The individual should have at least 5+ years of similar business experience in a public company for a significant business unit, product line, or division generating; 7+ years of related experience preferred
    • CPA preferred, public accounting experience a plus.
    • Extensive experience with ERP systems and excel required
      
      
      
      For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $105,000 to $157,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 96 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
