Job Description:
Anduril is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our
Team in Costa Mesa. As Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will have
responsibility for optimizing Anduril’s manufacturing processes to
ensure the highest quality, reliability and efficiency of
production, while supporting the development and implementation of
new products (NPI). Executing on this responsibility will entail
active collaboration with Anduril teams across Supply Chain,
Engineering, Quality, and Business Operations. The right person for
this role can demonstrate past ownership on solving production
challenges with creative solutions in a fast-paced,
resource-limited environment. What You'll Do Design, document and
implement efficient manufacturing processes to meet both new
product development (NPI) and full-rate production goals. Take
ownership of a certain product or set of products, from initial
prototyping through large full-scale production, by coordinating
multiple internal and external parties to achieve on-time delivery
under stringent quality standards. Proactively identify production
bottlenecks caused by line layout, work distribution, staffing
shortages, and other production constraints by understanding Cycle
Time and Quality Metrics. Write documentation required for
successfully manufacturing hardware at scale, such as work
instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, and manage
thMese requirements within Anduril’s MES. Provide technical
guidance to the production technicians and work with other
engineers side-by-side, building prototype hardware for test and
evaluation. Travel to suppliers to do initial part qualification
work, solve ongoing production issues, develop and implement
quality procedures to sustain high quality production part delivery
(DIFOT). Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and
assembly of structural parts. Work with design engineers to embed
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) features and principles in product
design. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages
knowledge sharing and team engagement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 8
years of experience in a manufacturing engineering field,
preferably process engineering for complex mechanical systems.
Understanding a variety of manufacturing processes for mechanical
parts (CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication / welding, injection
moulding, composite panel fabrication etc.) and mechanical system
assembly. Understanding of hardware manufacturing processes for
electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, battery power systems, cable
harnesses etc.) and electromechanical systems. Familiarity with
hardware testing and automated systems test Demonstrated
willingness to take on responsibility across manufacturing
engineering and supplier discussions, with a high level of
self-awareness and bias toward continuous improvement. Ability to
interpret CAD data and understand supplier technical documentation
including component GD&T drawings. Personal experience
physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining,
fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.), with previous work on
personal or extracurricular projects is a plus. A genuine interest
in manufacturing and thirst for learning. Experience implementing
Lean Manufacturing Principles Demonstrated ability to creatively
deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained
environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government
Security Clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Production line
design and set up including Value Stream Mapping, material flow,
workstation and tooling design. Experience with CAD software (NX,
Solidworks, Siemens/Teamcenter) Experience building engineering
release workflows including BOM management with tools such as PLM,
ERP and MES in a manufacturing environment. US Salary Range
$146,000 - $220,000 USD The salary range for this role is an
estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive
of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not
limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical
skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity
