Job Description:

The Transportation Manager at Nissin Foods USA is responsible for all aspects of transportation, including the effective and efficient movement of finished goods from our distribution network to our customers, and for improving the transportation of raw materials and packaging between our vendors and our production facilities. This role reports to the VP of Supply Chain and works hand-in-hand with other Supply Chain roles (Demand & Supply Planning, Customer Service, Material Planning, Distribution Centers) and other company functions like Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Manufacturing.Essential Functions- Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability - with or without reasonable accommodation - to perform the following duties but not limited to:1. Developing and operating within monthly and annual transportation budgets2. Performing analysis of costs and taking actions to minimize variance to budget3. Identifying and securing transportation partners, leading RFPs, vendor selection and negotiation - ensuring transportation capacity to meet company needs Creating dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to monitor and drive carrier performance

  • Managing rate contracts, ensuring that all carriers are in full compliance.
  • Collaborating with Customer Service and other functions to drive a superior customer delivery experience
  • Conducting regular carrier performance and compliance/customer service reviews4. Continuously analyzing, reviewing, assessing, recommending and implementing effective shipping strategies and procedures5. Meeting service level requirements of our customers - OTIF6. Establishing departmental policies and procedures that guarantee the effective and efficient flow of inventory and information in order to exceed customers' requirements, both internal and external7. Managing Transportation Management System and performance outcomes8. Optimizing flow of product from our warehouses to our customers, analyzing information and evaluating results to choose appropriate solutions to problems.9. Interfacing with all levels of management and departments to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability9. Training, coaching, and developing Logistics Planners in the execution of our transportation strategy10. Developing and leading pallet vendor strategy11. Demonstrating a high sense of urgency and ability to work with minimal supervisionSupervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Logistics Planners. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from a four-year college or university; 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid knowledge of transportation industry and Supply Chain management. A demonstrated understanding of the consumer goods industry - food industry experience preferable, but not mandatory.
