Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced forward-looking Human Resources Manager to join our team! This person will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Human Resources Department. Provides leadership and direction in human resources management including benefits, compensation, employment, HR information systems, and employee relations. This person will also make sure high-quality internal member services standards are maintained through a collaborative, respectful, constructive, trust-building, energetic, and hands-on approach, guided by our Vision, Mission, and Core Values. Essential Functions Include:

  • Manages the Human Resources staff, provides direction, organization information, and feedback, and evaluates employee performance on a consistent, timely, and regular basis.
  • Ensures the HR department has proper coverage and back up to ensure all duties related to the processing of employee payroll including but not limited to: preparing time and attendance records for payroll input, processing of payroll in ADP, biweekly 401k contributions, balancing and preparing payroll JV for posting are processed in a timely manner.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the Human Resources department and spearheads Human Resources initiatives.
  • Develops and manages the Human Resources budget and resource allocation, and reports on variances on a monthly basis.
  • Develops strategies and implements them through efficient project management.
  • Counsels employees at all levels, advises on disciplinary action steps, works closely with the leadership team to handle employee grievances, and manages the complaints/concerns process to ensure timely resolution.
  • Effectively utilizes management and employee coaching techniques.
  • Establishes and maintains business relationships with appropriate business partners and brokers.
  • Analyzes and negotiates contracts within area of responsibility and manages all vendor relationships that Human Resources oversees.
  • Monitors and manages cost efficiency and effectiveness of department activities by providing timely and accurate budgets, reviewing applicable reports and financial trends within the department.
  • Reviews and approves Credit Union annual performance evaluations for compliance and consistency and recommends changes as needed.
  • Controls the Credit Union's personnel files and confidential records.
  • Oversees the Credit Union's workers compensation insurance program, ensures compliance and consistency, and partners with the leadership team to implement programs that minimize claims.
  • Develops, updates, and communicates policies, and procedures for the HR department.
  • Ensures the Employee Handbook is up to date and complies with laws and regulations.
  • Partners with the leadership team to identify and ensure timely resolution of human resources liability/regulatory issues.
  • Proactively researches, suggests, develops, and implements employee retention management strategies and tactics.
  • Administers the organization's benefits programs such as medical coverage, dental insurance, group life insurance, pension plans, and other benefits.
  • Manages and administers our performance review program and recommends best practices.
  • Builds an effective compensation administration plan and manages the organization's compensation plan to ensures the accuracy of the data reflected in our compensation system. Recommends changes to ensures our compensation structure aligns with organizational direction to support a top-performer work environment.
  • Implements, monitors, and evaluates the department's goals and ensures alignment with organizational strategic priorities.
  • Ensures that SkyOne Federal Credit Union is, at all times, in compliance with all relevant employment-related laws and ensures the Credit Union is kept at the forefront of human resource and development practices and technology.
