Position: Executive Vice President, Fundraising
Reports to : Chief Operating Officer
Location: Gardena, CA
Classification: Exempt

Accountabilities of the Position
The Executive Vice President, Fundraising is accountable for securing new corporate and foundation donors from Fortune 1000 companies, local businesses, and national and community foundations; helping to retain existing HSF corporate and foundation donors; supporting individual donor fundraising efforts; and assisting with other organization-wide projects and initiatives, as needed.

--- Ability to exercise sound judgement, use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate an understanding of ethics related to fundraising activities and nonprofit operations
--- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
--- Demonstrated track record of identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and securing major grants and gifts from Fortune 1000 companies, local businesses, national and community foundations, individuals, and other private funding sources
--- Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing long- and short-range fundraising initiatives
--- Ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information, and prepare effective, accurate, and timely reports and other documents to support fundraising objectives
--- Awareness of best practices in customer service
--- Coachable

--- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
--- Proficiency with Office365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Teams, etc.) Adobe Acrobat PDF, database management (i.e. Salesforce), ESP technology (i.e. Marketo), web-based research, and videoconferencing applications (i.e. Zoom)
--- 20+ years of experience in similar or related role
--- Proficiency in Spanish or a second language a plus but not required

Commitment Expectations
--- Flexible to work weekends and/or extended workdays, as needed
--- Flexible to travel up to 30% of the time for meetings, presentations, and events, as needed
--- Flexible to complete additional assignments depending on the needs of the organization
--- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift no more than 35 pounds
