Job DescriptionLucky Duck Swim School in Gardena, CA is looking for one assistant front office manager to join our team. We are located on 2421 W. Marine Ave. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, detail oriented, strong problem solver and engaged.Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Office Manager assists the Office Manager in all functions of the office. Can perform all the functions an Office Manager performs on a daily basis, the emphasis being to prepare the assistant office manager to become an office manager. Responsible for the organization and coordination of office operations, procedures, and resources to facilitate effectiveness and efficiency of the swim school
  • Serve as the first point of contact for our clients. Provide exceptional customer service in-person, via email and by phone to clients, co-workers, external partners, callers, and visitors. Alert management of potentially serious issues
  • Participate in office training to learn and under the direction of the office manager, train office staff, assist in organizing office staff and functions. Read, adhere to, and stay updated with all the company's policies. Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions
  • Able to perform light duties of Human Resource functions such as creating weekly staff schedules, calculating hours while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws. Assist in interviewing, scheduling, training, developing, and counseling. Incorporate recommendations in performance reviews
  • Assist in managing daily operations of the Front Desk Staff to maximize revenues and profits while attaining optimal guest satisfaction. This would include day-to-day clerical work, customer service issues, answer multi line phone system, and contributing to the overall program of the swim school
  • Respond to guests' requests, problems, scheduling issues and concerns. Ensure guests receive prompt, professional attention and are greeted upon arrival
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling daily revenues and expenses, ensuring procedures are followed to minimize losses and expenses and maximize profits
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, speaking, pulling, pushing, occasional lifting of boxes up to 15 lbs., occasional moving or lifting office equipment of up to 40 pounds, filing, stooping, fine dexterity, operating office equipment
  • Other duties as assignedQualifications
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, as well as strong time management skills, knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel & light in QuickBooks/Quicken
    • Good working knowledge of office equipment, including skills in operating and troubleshooting computers, ten key calculator, and other office equipment
    • Assistant Manager experience 3 years
    • Genuine interest in helping others, flexible
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize completing tasks and meeting deadlines
    • High School graduation or similar. College experience preferred
    • Schedule is Wednesday - Sunday, flexible hours. Must be available to work weekends.We are looking forward to reading your application.
