Charge RN / Patient Care Coordinator Job Summary: A Registered
Nurse with responsibility for clinical and management of nursing
services in area of responsibility. Responsible and accountable for
coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients
on assigned nursing unit. Participates in establishment and
implementation of Hospital and Nursing objectives and policies and
procedures along with unit identified Performance Improvement
Projects. Assists Nursing Director with appropriate unit
initiatives including clinical rounds, orientation of new hires,
evaluation of annual staff performance, physician collaboration,
educational needs of staff, participates in appropriate meetings
and or committees. Reports to Nursing Director Essential Job
Duties: Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team in
planning patient care through Clinical rounding with staff,
management and MDs to ensure patient safety and satisfaction
Organizes, prioritizes and delegates work flow of the unit
Assisting staff with assimilating evidenced based knowledge into
decisions for the provision of patient care and in evaluating
practice and creating strategies for further improvement Manage
Crisis in the unit by coordinating the plan, implementation,
evaluation of solution to conflicts Participates in the interview
process for new hires and assists with the orientation process.
Participates in the staff evaluation process by giving feedback
regarding staff performance. Assists management in ensuring
compliance with organizational policies, standards, regulations and
professional standards of care. Participates in organization
Performance Improvement Serves as a role model for the Mission,
Vision and Values of the organization and fulfills other job duties
as requested within Scope of Practice Maintains current
competencies as well as updated knowledge in specific area of
practice Behavioral Standards: Exhibits customer and service
oriented behaviors in every day work interactions. Demonstrates a
courteous and respectful attitude to internal workforce and
external customers. Communication/Knowledge: Provides accurate and
timely written and verbal communication of clinical information in
a manner that is understood by all involved in the delivery of
patient care. Able to listen, understand, problem-solve,and
carry-out duties to ensure the optimal patient care outcomes. Able
to use IT systems in an accurate and proficient manner.
Collaboration/Teamwork: Contributes toward effective, positive
working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, reliability, and
dependability in all daily work activities and a willingness to
collaborate with others for the good of the customer and the
organization. Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in nursing
preferred At least 2 years recent experience in clinical setting
applying for Licensure/Certifications: Registered Nurse in good
standing with California Board of Nursing Current BLS for Health
Care Provider card Current area specific certification required
(i.e. NALS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, AB 508) ADA/Physical Demands: To
