We offer cleaning, safety, outreach, hospitality by greeting everyone with a smile and purposely engage in the community every day which in turn encourages growth in the communities that we partner with. As a Community Ambassador, you will be responsible for patrolling the streets and interacting with the public to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those you come into contact with. Your duties will include observing and reporting unwanted behaviors or criminal activity, addressing unwanted activities, providing hospitality and customer service, building relationships with stakeholders, and maintaining a professional environment. To be successful in this role, you should have strong communication skills, be physically fit and able to walk continuously during an eight-hour shift and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions with provided inclement weather gear. You should also be able to speak, read, and write English and have basic computer skills to create reports. Other Essential Functions: OBSERVE AND REPORT While on shift you will need to be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to Safety Ambassadors/Supervisors via two-way radios. Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers. HOSPITALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE While on shift you will need to actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors in order to provide directions, information, city information or recommendations. REPORTING Must be able to provide written reports and provide a basic daily report of accomplishments and tasks completed. We need people that can keep track of work orders and ensure that any important public safety hazards are documented and reported. PROFESSIONALISM Must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism. Our reputation is at stake, so we need people that are emotionally mature with a great work ethic. Physical Requirements Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting 10 to 50 lbs. Frequently bends, kneels and crouches. Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs. Must be able to a drive vehicle. Continuous traversing and moving about. Exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, odors, dirt and dust.
