Job Title: Cook Department: Women's Resident Ministries Reports To:
Executive Director FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt Pay
Transparency: $20.00 - $23.00 SUMMARY: The Cook position requires
the ability to work in a strong Christian environment and
demonstrate Christ-like behavior and attitude in all job duties and
responsibilities. Serves as a team player of the Women’s Program.
Reports to the Executive Director. Daily preparation of a healthy,
well-balanced meal. Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the
kitchen: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A Cook, or Line
Cook, is responsible for preparing ingredients at an establishment
that serves food, producing meals, and cleaning their workspace
throughout the day to follow health and safety guidelines. Cooks
follow recipes consistently, adjust based on special needs,
communicate with employees, and prepare attractive presentations
for each meal. Include, but not limited to the following. Ensure
ingredients and final products are fresh Follow recipes, including
measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients Bake, grill, steam, and
boil meat, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods Present,
garnish and arrange final dishes for catered events Serve food
Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils,
equipment, and dishes Handle and store ingredients and food
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards Clean and sanitize
work areas, equipment, and utensils Execute opening and closing
procedures Set up workstations with required ingredients and
equipment Check the quality and freshness of ingredients Monitor
station inventory levels Accommodate residents’ special requests
Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and
fryers Flexible work hours required. Holidays, events, overtime,
and the ability to adapt to various shifts assigned. Other duties
may be assigned by Executive Director SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No Staff supervisory responsibilities. May serve as an overseer of
student trainees or volunteers. Responsible for the training of
work assignments for students and volunteers.
