At FF, we're creating something new, something connected, and something with a true global impact.Your Role:As Sr. Thermal Engineer, you'll be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to develop, manage and release thermal components within the vehicle. Basically, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of the thermal components from the concept-idea phase on a napkin to vehicle launch. You will be primarily managing the AC Compressor and the AC Lines with final authority over the release of the components. Depending on your interests and the team's needs, you may also manage other components. You will work closely with internal groups and external global suppliers to ensure a successful product launch.Responsibilities:Gathering requirements from sub-system owners and decompose into the component levelUnderstanding all technical and regulatory requirements for componentCoordinating and leading weekly teleconferences with global suppliersWorking with design team or external suppliers to ensure the component meets all requirementsWorking with test and validation group to ensure the component meets all requirementsTests are performed at vehicle level in the field and in the FF vehicle thermal chamber, or on various test benches that are part of the thermal labManaging both the budget and scheduling of components to ensure overall company goal complianceSupporting the DFMEA, PFMEATroubleshooting during the test and validation phaseSupporting the manufacturing in build of Gamma and Production vehiclesBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial EngineeingAt least 3 years of experience in this fieldProven knowledgeexpertise, and passion for automotive, engineering and problem-solvingExcellent communication and team-working skillsHands-on experience with mechanical systemsStrong familiarity with CAD programs (you would be using Catia V6)Preferred Qualifications:Experience with SAPMaster's degree in Mechanical or Industrial EngineeringExperience in 1D simulation (Simulink/Simscape, GT Suite)A creative curiosity, collaborative work ethic, hardworking enthusiasm, and driving personal visionExperience in relevant projects in Automotive, Consumer Electronics/Tech industriesA penchant for multi-tasking and self-startingExperience with data-acquisition software (Motec, Canape)A genuine fascination for the automotive field and a commitment to global changeA true sense of determination... and hopefully a sense of humorPerksBenefits:Stock options for every employeeHealthcaredentalvision benefits (Free for you/discounted for family)401(k) optionsRelocation assistancereimbursementCasual dress coderelaxed work environmentCulturally diverse, progressive atmosphere"Soul of Faraday" community outreach teamSDL2017
