At FF, we're creating something new, something connected, and something with a true global impact.Your Role:You will work alongside exceptional designers and engineers to develop the aerodynamics of unique, innovative, and cool-looking electric-vehicles. The aerodynamics group is a small team requiring its members to be dynamic, self-starters, with strong communication and leadership skills. You'll play in an important and quite a sweet role, having a direct impact to the aesthetics and performance of our vehicles. As a Senior Aerodynamicist, you'll be expected to develop conceptual directions for the entire vehicle, while using both simulation and physical testing methods to develop and validate your concepts. There will be a lot of involvement with other engineering groups, but also heavy collaboration with the Design group and Studio Engineering to support development of current and future vehicle programs. This will include design reviews of digital and clay models in the design studio - an opportunity that is rare for most other engineers within the company!Responsibilities:Collaborate with Design and Studio to provide guidance and support for optimal aerodynamic performance of our vehicles.Generate, develop, and validate novel airflow management features and systems.Work with other engineering teams, suppliers, and program management to ensure optimum solutions, and that the design intent is maintained to production.Identify and develop creative solutions to resolve engineering/styling/aerodynamic conflicts.Prepare Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, post-process the results, and communicate the learning to other groups.Prepare for, and conduct, full-scale wind-tunnel and road tests, and provide feedback to the design and engineering groups.Document and present findings to cross-functional teams and novate, develop, and improve processes.Basic Qualifications:5years of aerodynamic development experience in the automotive, motorsports, or aerospace industry.A background in aerodynamic design and optimization, and a degree, or post-graduate qualification in aerodynamics, aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, or physics.An exceptional understanding of, and intuition for, fluid dynamics.Familiarity with geometry creation, simplification, and data management within CAD and/or polygonal surface software.Must have an innovative mindset, be proactive in improving processes and driving projects. Please provide examples.Accustomed to going above and beyond.Strong interest in automotive/electric-vehicle development.Excellent communicator, team player, resourceful, organized and mindful of time management.
