true global impact.Your Role:FF is pursuing a talented Interior
Design Engineer to join our team in Gardena, CA where you will be
given the opportunity to accelerate FF by applying your skills
combined with the latest technologies and design methods. As the
Interiors Design Release Engineer, you will be responsible for
design, development, testing, and refinement of component and
sub-system level products based on our end-customers needs, program
budgetary constraints, and that meet internal quality and external
regulatory standards. You will also collaborate closely with studio
designers, research the latest technologies, manage project timing,
and develop new design tools and processes. This position will
report to the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities:Lead the
development of unique, innovative and advanced engineering for
Instrument panels and center console concepts and component
designs.Provide program launch support in plant and at supplier
locations.Engineer mechanical, kinematic and structural components
along with A-class surface and electronics integration.Perform
feasibility checks with respect to material, manufacturing & design
aspects.Work diligently with Suppliers to develop each applicable
component/sub-system to meet all weight, cost, durability, and
performance targets.Effectively collaborate with other engineering
groups, and leadership team to meet engineering deliverables within
tight time constraints.Ensure compliance/homologation of the system
and component designs with all vehicle/component requirements,
quality objectives, program milestones, performance, cost, weight &
safety.Demonstrated traits of flexibility and adaptability within a
fast-paced and dynamic work environment.Some travel domestically
and/or internationally.Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree in
engineering (or equivalent).5+ years of total work experience, with
4+ years of experience in interior IP and console design and
development.Understanding of plastic and metal structures, comfort
modeling; prototype development and testing; systems engineering
fundamentals; and plastics injection/blow molding manufacturing are
needed to be successful in this position.Ability to effectively
communicate ideas through verbal and/or pictorial means.Outstanding
component design, packaging, and A-class surface modeling skills
using CATIA V6.Preferred Qualifications:S. in mechanical
engineering.Thorough design, packaging, A-class surface and 3D
modeling skills in CATIA V5/V6 (6,000+ hours).Knowledge of plastics
and composites molding techniques and tooling, foaming, wrapping,
extrusions, attachment schemes, assembly methodology, and product
launch.Knowledge in integrating interior components including
closures, wiring, HVAC systems, passenger airbag, displays, and
interactive surfaces with respect to engineering best practices
regarding material selection, attachment methods, etc.Strong
understanding of new and emerging technologies, products, and
development methods in order to design a world-class consumer
experience.Automotive passion, specifically for electric vehicles
and energy efficiency.Work within and without a team to solve
difficult design problems with tight timing constraints.Flexibility
and adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.Able
and willing to travel domestically and internationally.Previous
program management experience.Multiple In-plant and/or program and
vehicle launch experience.Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R and
