Brake Press Operator Job Description Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating sheet metal products. Primary responsibility to set up and operate brake press to form precision sheet metal parts and components. Secondary responsibility to set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, presses, forming rolls, and dies to cut, bend, form, or straighten materials. Inspects parts for conformance to blue print requirements and specifications. File, trim, and deburr parts as required. Maintain sheet metal equipment and area. Skills & Qualifications EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION: 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with precision sheet metal forming required, aerospace background a plus. Certificate from college, technical school or apprenticeship a plus. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
