We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven National Used Vehicle Director with a proven track record of leadership in pre-owned vehicle operations. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who excels in team development, market analysis, and operational efficiency, with the goal of optimizing dealership used vehicle performance. . This role requires significant experience as a Used Vehicle Director or other platform role for a large dealer group. Successful candidates must be based within an existing AutoNation Market. Key Responsibilities: Market Leadership & Vision Execution Set clear expectations, objectives, and performance goals for used vehicle sales and gross profit across Markets. Drive operational consistency, compliance, and process execution across Markets. Inventory Strategy & Pricing Optimization Analyze market data and trends to ensure Markets maintain a balanced inventory mix tailored to local demand. Optimize inventory aging and pricing by ensuring utilization of internal tools and market intelligence. Ensure vehicle transfers are occurring that maximize retail opportunities and reduce aging. Performance Analysis & Operational Excellence Conduct regular business reviews to assess KPIs, identify shortfalls, and implement action plans. Evaluate speed-to-market metrics and reconditioning cycle times; partner with Market Used Vehicle Directors to streamline processes. Champion merchandising best practices, ensuring all AutoNation branding and digital presentation standards are met. Financial & Trade-In Strategy Guide trade appraisal strategy and trade-in retention targets across the Company. Partner with Market leaders to ensure alignment on retail and acquisition strategies. Success in this role is measured by Achievement of used vehicle sales and gross profit targets Inventory turn and speed-to-market performance Trade appraisal volume and retention metrics Execution of AutoNation operational processes and compliance standards Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred 7 years of automotive used vehicle management and acquisition experience with multi-store leadership preferred Proven success in used vehicle operations, inventory strategy, and retail execution Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills Experience with dealership technology platforms (CRM, DMS, inventory and pricing tools) Prior General Manager experience may be helpful Exciting Benefits and Perks Await You: Competitive compensation and 401k matching Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with insurance plans (health, dental, vision) and maternity benefits.
